Dr. Sam Malafeh

Dr. Sam Malafeh, PhD in Economics (The University of Auckland, New Zealand), is an innovative and results-driven leader in education focused on achieving exceptional results in highly competitive environments. Sam has a proven track record of building a strong team to deliver quality education. He is experienced in driving quality operations, processes, and customer service improvements while building partnerships with key business decision-makers. Sam is passionate about education and believes in empowering people, whether they are students, academics, colleagues or other individuals.

In his previous role as the Chief Executive Officer of a New Zealand education provider, Sam led the five schools operating in the group to offer education for employment and enterprise.The schools were repeatedly rated highly by New Zealand Qualifications Authority. They are known as schools with exceptional support to students, maintaining the integrity, high-quality delivery and high employment outcomes for graduates.

Dr Malafeh is delighted to be part of an international high performance company.  With the new strategy, Malvern International is improving its systems and processes, and teaming up with highly-qualified and experienced people to enhance the ultimate learning experience. Group Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Bharat Guha is the incoming CFO for Malvern International PLC. Bharat is a chartered accountant with an extensive experience in the education sector. He has held numerous senior positions as CFO, Deputy CEO and leadership positions in different educational tertiary institutions. Bharat was recognised as a Fellow of the Australia New Zealand Chartered Accountants for his financial work on the Zero Fee Scheme for New Zealand’s sixth largest government owned Institute of Technology. He has developed and led successful government / private tertiary institution partnerships for attracting international students to New Zealand. Bharat is also a member of the New Zealand Institute of Directors, New Zealand Asian Leaders and Rotary International.

Group Chief Operating Officer

Ms. Wei Lin joined Malvern since January 2017, prior to that, Wei was heading the administration and student services department in one of the largest international education providers in New Zealand. Wei has extensive knowledge and experience in running operation and special projects for CEO in the previous job. Wei Lin is a graduate from Auckland University of Technology and is now pursing MBA. She believes education is the most powerful weapon one can use to change the world. When not at work, Wei enjoys driving, travelling and golf.

UK Senior Academic Advisor

Prof. Ian Brooks has recently joined the group as the UK Senior Academic advisor. Professor Brooks has recently retired from his position as the Deputy Dean of the Business school. Now Director at Brooks International Education Limited and Visiting Professor of the University of Northampton, he was the Executive Dean of the Northampton Business School (NBS), at the University of Northampton until 2016. The school was nominated in 2014, 2015 for the Times Higher Education Business School of the Year. He was also the University’s strategic lead for internationalisation, academic alliances, the taught portfolio and academic planning and Director of the University’s International Office and the Academic Partnership and Planning Office. A Fellow of the RSA, his teaching and research background lies in organisational behaviour and business strategy.

Professor Ian Brooks has published his work in many peer reviewed journals, including Organization Studies, the British Journal of Management and Long Range Planning. His popular text book, Organisational Behaviour, is in its 4th edition (5th shortly). He now combines a range of board level responsibilities with higher education advisory and consultancy activity in the private and public sectors in the UK and overseas. As a UK Senior Academic Advisor, Professor Brook will provide support to the executive team towards it programme and partnership expansion.

Mr. Kris Hall

General Manager & Principal, Malvern House International

Mr. Kris Hall became the General Manager of Malvern House in August 2017. He completed his Post Graduate studies at the University of Westminster – where he studied Health and Social Care Management – and has been a senior manager in the Private Sector, Third Sector and Education Sector for over 20-years.

Student Welfare and the student experience is a key focus for Kris and he has been the Safeguarding Lead at an organisational level for both a Pan-London charity and international education group over the last decade.

‘Our role in the journey of a student is extremely important – a good school with a supportive team of teachers and staff can make the difference between success and failure for the student. To be trusted with this responsibility is a very great honour and the best way we can repay this is with excellent customer service’.

Group Secretary

Ms. Jane Lau has more than 15 years of experience as personal assistant to CEO, handling company’s secretarial and corporate work, following up on financial and operational matters as required, assisting HR on appointments and dealing with Manpower policies.

As the group secretary, Jane would continue to do the same but at the Group level to assist Group CEO, Group Deputy CEO and Chief Financial Officer on secretarial, administrative and operational follow ups.

Mr. Ben Delaney

Global Head of Sales & Marketing

Mr. Ben Delaney is an experience and driven sales professional with over 10 years experience of business to business sales in the ESL Sector. He has worked in many markets around the world including Asia Pacific, Russia/CIS & the Middle East, however he focused primarily on the European and Latin American regions in recent years. He has worked in both high-end and volume driven ESL businesses and have also worked within the worlds largest tourism company.

Richard Mace, is co-founder and General Manager of Communicate School. He has an honours degree in Computer Systems Engineering from the University of Sheffield. A combination of Computer Science and Control Engineering. Richard has brought his analytical background to the ELT industry which has contributed to the rapid growth of the school over the last 4 years. This involved setting up internal processes, creating the school brand and fit out, developing and introducing IT systems, building B2C marketing methods and Communicate’s international agent network.

Marza Mace, MA in TEFL, is a founder and principal of Communicate School in Manchester. Marza has 10 years experience in building and managing teams and streamlining processes in the most effective ways. In her team she promotes interpersonal skills that build successful client, supplier and employee relationships. She is a logical and adaptable critical thinker with strong analytical skills and an accurate approach to achieving excellent results. Marza is a skilled negotiator with proven abilities in cost management.
