Today we are going to be looking at two sounds that learners often get confused, they are /i:/ and /i/ so what is the difference? Well they are both vowel sounds but /i:/ is a long sound, /i/ is a short sound, /i:/ /i/. Look at the shape of my mouth for the different sounds, /i:/, /i/, /i:/, /i/.
