Singapore School Update

Temporary closure of Singapore school

and expansion of online learning provision

The Board of Malvern International (AIM: MLVN) confirms that, in line with the announcement by Singapore’s Prime Minister on Friday 3 April introducing stricter social distancing measures in the city state, Malvern’s school will close as of Tuesday 7 April until further notice, with teaching being delivered online from Wednesday 8 April.

Since the closure of the UK schools Malvern’s management has been expanding its online learning provision for language and professional qualification students. Language students have access to short weekly online group courses supported by Malvern’s teaching staff and can book one-to-one online tutorials. Business diploma students are able to attend pre-scheduled online lectures and ACCA students can now access the full range of study material including video lessons, revision notes and exam papers.

Sam Malafeh, CEO of Malvern, said: “As an education provider we have a duty to our existing students to provide continuity of learning where possible. Following the closure of the UK schools it also became clear that many of our students were keen to move forward in their education, particularly when social distancing measures means that they have the time to focus on their studies. While the sales and marketing team continues its work with enrolments and rescheduling of existing bookings for the second half of 2020, we are currently working on expanding our Malvern Online offering.”
